Sunflowers for Nancy

Beneath the sky so wide and blue,
I plant these seeds in thoughts of you,
Dear Nancy, gone, but not unseen—
In golden blooms, your soul will glean.

With gentle hands, I press the earth,
A quiet rite to mark your worth.
Each seed a wish, a whispered prayer,
That you might dance in sunlit air.

When summer comes with warming light,
And petals turn to face the bright,
I’ll see your smile in yellow rays,
And hold you close through all my days
